Racing Fraternity Mass At Randwick

Sydney’s annual Racing Fraternity Mass will be held on Sunday March 17 at Randwick racecourse.

The Mass will be held in the ballroom in the Queen Elizabeth II stand starting at 11am.

A Racing Mass hs been a feature of major carnivals around Australia for over 50-years and are attended by a big cross section of participants in the racing industry.

“Each year in the Mass we remember those who are suffering illness, the injured jockeys and others who are ill, as well as the recently deceased members of the industry,” said Brother Dan Stafford of the non-denominational Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy.

“We now have a full time chaplain, Rev. Colin Watts, as well as Father Tom Stevens and myself working as a team under the banner of the ARCC.

“Colin is an Anglican Minister and Father Tom and myself are both Catholic. We give to all people our time and support.”

Access to Randwick for Sunday’s Mass will be through the Ascot St gates off Doncaster Avenue.
