Trapeze Artist (Gerald Ryan): He has really come on in his two trial wins since he resumed in the Expressway Stakes with this effort to win his 1030m heat hard held (blinkers on) by almost five lengths in easily the fastest time (61.77; 34.60) confirmation that he is in the right form to put in a big effort next time out.

NOTED TRIALS

XXX Redzel

XX Kementari; Trekking, Yes Yes Yes; Special Date; King’s Champ

X Fierce Impact; Santos; Prompt Response; Music Magnate; Famous; Dubious; Pin Sec, Escondido; Exhilarates; Garrison; Stronger

Affected track saw the rail go off with those out for serious trials head to the middle and wider as the heats progressed. Redzel, with blinkers on, was right on his game and worked like a machine to win his 897m heat in 54.63 (fastest) with the highlight being his quick last 600m (33.50). The 897m heat that saw Music Magnate beat Kementari and Trekking in 54.75 (last 600m 34.20) is obviously strong form.

There was some excellent 2YO trials from the likes of Yes Yes Yes, Special Date and KING’S CHAMP – put them down as youngsters set to make an impact over the carnival.

RANDWICK February 18

Good 4 – Randwick Course (Inside Grass)

12 Heats – 1 x 1200m (Open); 5 x 1045m (2 Open; 1 2YO; 2 Maiden); 6 x 740m (1 Open; 4 2YO; 1 Maiden)

NOTED TRIALS

XXX Evening Slippers

XX Trapeze Artist; Ball Of Muscle; Strasbourg; Standout; Rome; Enforcement

X Shumookh; Galway Girl; Pierata; Pinup Miss; Chabreet; Dubai Harbour; Bride Of Vengeance

Evening Slippers (Waterhouse/Bott): Just as she did in her previous trial win on February 7, this $1.8 million Snitzel filly was a class above her rivals as she cruised through her 1045m heat, leading in in the middle stages by four lengths before she was throttled back in the last 100m. She has a relaxed fluid action that marks her as a top class filly.
